Haaland double pack: Norway beats
Second win in the second game thanks to double packer Erling Haaland: Three days after the 1-0 win in Serbia, Norway also won the Scandinavian duel in Sweden 2-1 (1-0) in the Nations League. Haaland, who joined Manchester City from Borussia Dortmund on July 1, scored both goals for the team of former Cologne coach Stale Solbakken. Haaland first scored after 20 minutes with a penalty kick. Emil Krafth had previously touched Morten Thorsby only slightly. In the second half, the superstar followed up with a low shot to make it 2-0 (69′). A little later, Haaland, who now scored 18 goals in 19 international matches, even had the chance to score a hat-trick, but he failed free-standing to goalkeeper Robin Olsen.
The Swedes, who also won their opening match in Slovenia 2-0, proved to be at least equal in Solna. But in the end they completely lacked the efficiency of the Norwegians. Anthony Elanga (90+2) scored late.
Serbia beats Slovenia
In the second game of the evening in group B4, World Cup participants Serbia won 4-1 (1-1) against Slovenia. Captain Aleksandar Mitrovic (24′), Sergej Milinkovic-Savic (56′) and Luka Jovic (85′) each headed from close range. Ex-Hertha player Nemanja Radonjic made the final score (90+2). Greece wins in Kosovo
In Group C2, Greece celebrated a 1-0 victory in Kosovo. Anastasios Bakasetas scored in Pristina in the 36th minute to win. Cyprus and Northern Ireland drew goalless in the second game of the group. Greece now leads the group with six points.
Clear home bankruptcy for Bulgaria
In Group C4, Bulgaria lost 5-2 to Georgia. Zuriko Davitashvili (4′), Budu Zivzivadze (52′), Khvicha Kvaratskhelia (58′) and Valeri Qazaishvili (69′) scored for Georgia in Razgrad, while Andrea Hristov (31′) also scored an own goal. Atanas Iliev (50th) and Iliyan Stefanov (83rd) then only do a little cosmetic work for Bulgaria.
In the second game of the evening in this group, Gibraltar lost 2-0 to the team from North Macedonia. Enis Bardhi (21st) and Boban Nikolov (84th) marked the two goals.
Malta celebrated a 2-0 win in San Marino in Group D2. Jan Busuttil (59′) and Matthew Guillaumier (75′) scored for the visitors.
