Nations League: German volleyball players with victory against Thailand

The German volleyball women stayed on the road to success in the Nations League. Coach Vital Heynen’s team won in Brasilia against Thailand 3:1 (25:20, 25:13, 19:25, 25:23). The German team has now won four of the first five games.

“It was very important for us to get off to a good start this week, now we can go into the next games with confidence,” said setter Pia Kästner. After the two clear sentences, “they made it difficult for us, served very well and we had problems on the ball. But we fought our way through,” said the 24-year-old, proud of her team.

In the games of the Volleyball Nations League, points are awarded for the world rankings, which can ultimately be decisive for the Olympic qualification for Paris 2024. Thailand was behind Germany before the game.

The top 16 teams in the world for men and women play against each other in the Nations League at different venues over six weeks. After twelve games per team, the eight best teams advance to the final round. The next opponent of the DVV women is Japan on Friday at 7:00 p.m. German time.
