Riejanne Markus has won the Dutch title on the road. The native Diemense defeated Shirin van Anrooij in the sprint. Markus succeeds Amy Pieters as winner with her victory.
The race was mainly dominated by Amy Pieters, who fell heavily last December. Before the start of the Women’s National Championships in Westerbork, there was a tribute for the Zwanenburgse. She suffered severe brain damage in the fall, which left her in a wheelchair.

About ten kilometers before the end of the race, Markus and Van Anrooij drove away from the leading group. The pursuers continued to chase the duo. The duo seemed to be getting no pay for work a kilometer before the end, but the pace of the chasing leading group stopped. After a strong sprint, 27-year-old Markus took the national title.
