VOC won the national championship this afternoon with a victory over Venlo: 31-28. That was also the final for the title last year, but then the Limburgers were too strong. It was the seventh time that VOC was the best in the Netherlands.
The first game in the best of three series also went to VOC. It was won 32-25. In the initial phase it was still very even (10-10), until Faye Janson helped the team from Amsterdam to a 14-11 score. The half was reached with 15-13.

It became tense in the third quarter (23-23), but VOC Venlo didn’t let it get any further. Partly due to three hits from Daphne Luchies, a gap was created (27-24), which did not give away after that. It ended in 31-28 and the party erupted in Amsterdam-Noord.
