RKC Waalwijk closes the season with a big defeat against relegated team

RKC Waalwijk has not been able to close the football season in style. The Waalwijkers still had a chance to qualify against relegated SC Cambuur for the play-offs for European football, but let that opportunity pass. The team of trainer Joseph Oosting lost in Leeuwarden with big numbers, 4-0.

In the first half, the venom was in the tail. Well into injury time, Cambuur scored two goals in a row in a matter of minutes. Roberts Uldrikis opened the scoring by tapping in a cross from long range from captain Alex Bangura. That was in the fifth minute of extra time.

Then goal number two came right after. RKC Waalwijk lost the ball immediately after kick-off and David Sambissa rounded off after a quick attack by the home club.

Soon after the restart, Navarone Foor made it 3-0. He got the ball with a bit of luck, turned away from two opponents and rounded. Because of Milan Smit, the Frisians were even further ahead. He could easily score after a defensive error at RKC Waalwijk

For Joseph Oosting it was the last game as coach of RKC Waalwijk. After a successful season in Waalwijk, he leaves for FC Twente.
