National football coach Hansi Flick has guaranteed offensive player Jonas Hofmann a place in the World Cup in Qatar in November and December.
“If you see the last games, you have to say that he’s already set,” said Flick of the “Rheinische Post”. National coach and U21 coach Antonio Di Salvo had visited Borussia Mönchengladbach’s Bundesliga team at the training camp in Rottach-Egern am Tegernsee.
Hofmann, who was Gladbach’s top Bundesliga goalscorer with twelve goals last season, had played eleven international matches under Flick since last September and scored four goals. The 29-year-old was also used as a right-back on the right-hand side.
