National player Giulia Gwinn from FC Bayern Munich has canceled her participation in the two World Cup qualifiers against Turkey and Bulgaria.

As the German Football Association announced, persistent knee problems are the reason for the cancellation. National coach Martina Voss-Tecklenburg has initially refrained from a subsequent nomination.

The DFB selection will play their final two qualifying games for the 2023 World Cup in Australia and New Zealand on September 3 (from 2.45 p.m./ZDF) in Turkey and on September 6 (from 6.30 p.m. CEST/ARD One) in Bulgaria . The squad still has 23 players.

Germany’s runner-up at the European Championships leads qualifying group H with a three-point lead over Serbia. Only the top of the table qualifies directly for the World Cup taking place in Oceania from July 20 to August 20, 2023.
