Borussia Dortmund’s out-of-form offensive player Karim Adeyemi is apparently threatened with serious consequences in the German national soccer team. The background is that the BVB professional was refused a DFB nomination.
The 21-year-old was actually supposed to take part in the upcoming U21 international matches on November 17th (6:00 p.m.) in Paderborn against Estonia and on November 21st (6:00 p.m.) in Essen against Poland. But Adeyemi turned down the invitation from U21 coach Antonio Di Salvo.
After the Dortmund player was not nominated for the senior national team, he “entered into discussions” with them and BVB, said Di Salvo. “The fact is that Karim currently wants to stay with the club in order to achieve his goals.” However, it was clear, the trainer added, “that Karim would have helped us with his quality.”
As “Bild” reports, Adeyemi is said to have not made the decision against the U21 in agreement with the DFB. It is said that the association accepted his rejection. However, this was not well received by national coach Julian Nagelsmann.
The tabloid now speculates that the process could jeopardize Adeyemi’s chances of taking part in the home European Championships next year.

The winger, who was signed by Red Bull Salzburg for 30 million euros in 2022, has recently had few arguments for a place in the European Championship squad.
After a very strong second half of the 2022/2023 season, Adeyemi has not been able to get going this season due to injury.
There are also persistent accusations around BVB that the highly talented left-footer is not making enough of his potential. Assistant coach Armin Reutershahn expressed clear criticism in the presence of Adeyemi during a talk on the “Ruhr Nachrichten” in the summer and accused the professional of a lack of seriousness. BVB consultant Matthias Sammer also recently publicly criticized Adeyemi in his capacity as a TV expert.
