Assistant coach Danny Röhl appreciates his boss Hansi Flick’s skills as a communicator.
“Hansi finds the right words for every player at the right time. Hansi manages to turn you into a we,” said the 33-year-old in an interview with “Spox” and “Goal”.
Flick’s “great art is that he manages to respond perfectly to the respective needs. To tackle everyone properly,” added Röhl, who had already assisted the national coach during his time at Bayern Munich.
“You have to make it as a coach that everyone sees the big picture and finds themselves in their role,” said Röhl: “You have to be an extremely good communicator for that – and that’s Hansi.”
In general, it is crucial for success to “create a common vision”. You have to “formulate it very clearly and then demand it. Hansi did that very early on. Our slogan is: You’re always a national player.”
This also applies to the national coach himself and his staff. “Everyone belongs, everyone has to know the way and the goal – and everyone has to want to develop every day,” said Röhl: “That’s how you create a clear identity, which you not only want to stand for on, but also off the pitch.”
