Joachim Löw can still imagine a return to the coaching bench. According to the 2014 World Champion Coach, a position as a national coach would be a logical choice.

“Basically I said, I don’t want to say goodbye if there is another interesting offer where I say is a good perspective,” said Joachim Löw on the edge of the semi-finals in the DFB Cup between VfB Stuttgart and RB Leipzig (3: 1) on Wednesday evening at “Sky”.

“Of course I am always associated with national teams because I was a national coach for so long,” said the 65-year-old and stated: “I think as far as my experience is concerned, that would also be the best for me because I have been out of club football for a long time.”

Since his farewell as a national coach of the German national team, Löw has been without a new job after the 2021 European Championship. The Black Forest native worked as a club coach between 2003 and 2004 at the traditional Austrian club Austria Vienna.

Joachim Löw confirms job requests

Löw had repeatedly indicated a possible return to the coaching bank in the past.

“There were always inquiries,” the world champion in 2014 had revealed on the sidelines of Lukas Podolski’s farewell game in Cologne last October. However, one has to “burn” for it, so it is therefore not so easy to just take on another national team.

At the same time, Löw made it clear that this does not have to apply forever. “It can be that I say again at some point: such a task excites me. And then I am highly motivated again,” said the ex-professional.

“When I was with the team for so long, spent so long with the players, that is also deep in my heart for me,” said Löw about his past as a German national coach.
