There has been a sigh of relief in recent days as the infection rates in our country finally seemed to reach a ceiling and started to fall again. Chances are, however, that we crowed victory too soon. After all, the weekly report of the National Reference Laboratory shows that the number of infections with the new subtype BA.2 has doubled. “At the moment we cannot rule out the possibility that we will have a second infection peak due to BA.2”, it sounds. And that could come within a month.
