For a long time, Felicitas Rauch was on the left defensive side of the DFB team. She recently had to struggle with injuries. Now the Wolfsburg native is fulfilling her dream of changing.
National player Felicitas Rauch is moving from VfL Wolfsburg to North Carolina Courage in the US professional league NWSL. According to her new club on Wednesday, the 27-year-old will receive a two-year contract. “We didn’t make the decision to comply with this request lightly. After all, we are losing a long-standing top performer and a great personality,” said Wolfsburg director Ralf Kellermann. “In addition to the fact that we wanted to make this career dream possible for her, the economic component also spoke in favor of this step.”
Rauch’s contract with VfL originally ran until 2025. The 36-time DFB selection player was a regular at the European Championships, but was injured during the World Cup last summer in Australia.
