FC Bayern and VfL Wolfsburg have been dueling for the championship in the women’s Bundesliga for years. Now a star is changing sides.
The German national player Lena Oberdorf is about to move to FC Bayern. This is reported by the “Soccerdonna” portal. The 22-year-old’s contract with VfL Wolfsburg runs until 2025. For the “Wolves”, next summer would be the last opportunity to generate a transfer fee for Oberdorf.
The defensive player is considered one of the best players in Germany. Oberdorf has been a fixture in the national team for a long time. At the European Championships 2022 in England she became runner-up with the DFB team. Oberdorf was also named the tournament’s best young player.
In 2020 she moved from Essen to VfL Wolfsburg. She won the DFB Cup three times with the team led by captain Alexandra Popp. There was also a championship in 2022.
