National player Hollatz moves to Istanbul

National basketball player Justus Hollatz surprisingly makes a second change of club this summer. The 22-year-old, who is in Gordon Herbert’s squad for the World Cup in Japan, Indonesia and the Philippines (August 25 to September 10), will play for top Turkish club Anadolu Efes next season.

The Istanbul team is loaning the point-up player from Olimpija Ljubljana – the Slovenian team only signed Hollatz in June. On Wednesday, Ljubljana confirmed the short-term departure of the pro, who played for CB Breogan in Spain last season.

According to “Hamburger Abendblatt”, the agreement with Anadolu Efes now includes the option of a further loan and a purchase.

At the World Cup, Hollatz could miss the opening game on Friday against co-hosts Japan (2:10 p.m.) due to an ankle injury from preparation.
