National Football Team has started preparations for the Japan match!



The National Football Team started its preparations for the special match it will play against Japan on Tuesday, September 12, with training in Eskişehir.


Having drawn 1-1 with Armenia yesterday in the UEFA 2024 European Championship Qualifiers, the Crescent and Stars made preparations for their special match against Japan in Belgium at the Eskişehir New Stadium.


Kerem Aktürkoğlu, who suffered neck and chest trauma in the match against Armenia, and Abdülkerim Bardakcı, who was given permission to be with his wife in the last stage of her pregnancy, did not take part in the training because they were removed from the candidate squad.


İrfan Can Kahveci, whose eyebrow was injured as a result of colliding with the opponent player during the match with the players in the first 11 in the match against Armenia, carried out renovation work in the hotel where the camp was held.


Coach Stefan Kuntz had a short meeting with his assistants and players. The national players then started training and after their warm-up exercises, they practiced matches and shooting in the half-court. Kuntz paid close attention to some football players during training.


Following the training, Turkish Football Federation (TFF) President Mehmet Büyükekşi and TFF National Teams Manager Hamit Altıntop had a one-on-one meeting on the field for a while. Büyükekşi and Altıntop also examined the ground of the stadium.


Büyükekşi and Altıntop had a short meeting with coach Stefan Kuntz on the field after the training ended.


The National Football Team will go from Eskişehir to Maastricht, the Netherlands, on a THY plane at 15.00 tomorrow for the special match it will play with Japan in Genk, Belgium, and then go to the city of Sittard, where it will camp.


Coach Stefan Kuntz and a player from the candidate squad will hold a press conference at Cegeka Arena, where the match will be played on Monday, September 11, at 17.15 GMT. The national team will do their last training before the match at 18.00 TSI in this stadium.


The Japan-Turkey match will start on Tuesday, September 12 at 15.20 CET and will be broadcast live on TRT 1.
