National Coordinator Groningen opens a reporting point for homeowners who incurred costs for strengthening their home

National Coordinator Groningen (NCG) opened the Reporting Center for Costs of Reinforcement on Monday.

The reporting point is intended for homeowners who have had to incur costs for the reinforcement or demolition and new construction of their home. NCG wants to investigate how many residents had to use their own money.

“The reinforcement should not be at the expense of residents’ own wallets,” National Coordinator Groningen Regina Bouius explains in a press release. ‘We hope to use the reporting point to find out how often this has happened. Because if we know what’s going wrong, we can change policies or processes. Where possible and necessary, we will take action and the costs will be reimbursed.’

Signals from residents

NCG set up a reporting point after receiving signals from residents who had to pay their own money for the demolition and new construction of their home. These were owners of homes from the so-called batch 1588. The reinforcement of these homes is financed by subsidies from the municipalities.

NCG uses the reporting center to map out the extent of the problem. Where necessary, residents’ costs will be reimbursed.

Reporting point for reinforcement costs

Residents who have had to incur costs themselves due to the reinforcement or demolition-new construction can report by calling 088 – 041 44 77. NCG is available from Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
