National coach Jonker brings Martens and Van der Gragt back to the Orange women selection

National coach Andries Jonker today announced the selection of the Orange Women for the exhibition games against Costa Rica and Denmark. Star player Lieke Martens has been called up again for the first time since the European Championship last summer. Jonker has also made room for Stefanie van der Gragt from Heerhugowaard.

The 60-year-old Jonker has decided not to call on Vivianne Miedema and Jill Roord. “Just like in October, we again looked at the individual situations of players. In consultation with the players and their club, we decided not to call up Vivianne and Jill during this period,” said the former Telstar trainer.

Stefanie van der Gragt was not in the selection in recent months, but thanks to her good game at her new employer Inter called up again. Lieke Martens missed the past matches of the Netherlands due to an injury, but can now prepare for both exhibition games. The Orange squad will play against Costa Rica on November 11 in Utrecht and Denmark on November 15 in Zwolle.
