The handball players of Aalsmeer have started the new season with a positive feeling. The duel with Bevo was mainly dominated by the returning Jeffrey Boomhouwer. He contributed to the victory with three goals: 34-31.
Aalsmeer, which played in its own sports hall De Bloemhof, was quickly 3-0 against Bevo. That margin of three goals was maintained throughout the first half, because after fifteen minutes it was 8-5. At halftime it was 18-15 in favor of Aalsmeer. Big man was Donny Vink with nine hits, half of all points.
In the second half, the positive line was continued by Bert Bouwer’s team. The margin was quickly expanded to six. The game was decided ten minutes before the end at a score of 31-25. It eventually ended in 34-31.
HV Volendam
Earlier in the day, HV Volendam started the new season against Achilles Bocholt. The reasonably renewed handball team lost narrowly to the Belgians: 27-26. At halftime, the handball players trailed 11-13, but the tide was turned in the second half.
Robin Nagtegaal gave his team the lead for the first time. With a score of 25-25, it was precisely former player Tim Claessens who shattered Volendam’s hopes, after which Thomas Driesen determined the final score with a goal.
