Nathan N’Goumou is about to make his debut against Union Berlin

Nathan N’Goumou came to Borussia Mönchengladbach from FC Toulouse as a great promise for the future. So far he hasn’t had a breakthrough with the foals. But that could change now in the away game at leaders Union Berlin.

Shortly before the end of the transfer, the Foals took 22-year-old N’Goumou from Ligue 1 promoted Toulouse. The talent, which was still completely unknown in Germany at the time, cost eight million euros.

So far, the France U-21 international has only played as a substitute. Even if he is dissatisfied with his current situation in the Rhineland, he can classify his current situation. “I’m a footballer and would of course always like to be on the pitch. But I also know that I still have a lot to learn,” he said in an interview published on the club’s website.

So far, N’Goumou has not been able to add himself to Borussia’s list of goalscorers. But if he has his way, that should change in the near future. “Scoring and preparing goals – that should be the next step. If I keep working on myself every day, it will come all by itself,” said the storm talent confidently.

Many Gladbach failures in the offensive area

N’Goumou’s hard work may pay off as early as next weekend.

In the difficult away game against leaders Union Berlin, Borussia are missing three important offensive players in Jonas Hofmann, Florian Neuhaus and Hannes Wolf. Moussa Koné is also out with a yellow card suspension. Asked about his chances to start for the first time, N’Goumou is reluctant.

“As a player, you always hope that you’ll be in the starting XI and do your best during the week to make the coach’s decision to field you as easy as possible,” says the right winger with a smile on his face.
