Natacha Harlequin does not understand why Carlo Boszhard does not answer his phone when the Shownieuws editors call him. He had better respond quickly to the allegations against him, she says.
Carlo Boszhard is accused of transgressive behavior by the Gossip Talk program. Ridiculous, thinks the RTL 4 presenter. He is now going to report defamation against both Gossip Talk and its presenter, Jan Roos. Meanwhile, Shownieuws is quite critical of Carlo.
Evert responds
Private boss Evert Sanwaarden understands that Carlo is angry, he says in the program† “I can imagine something with that. Carlo is 52 and has been regularly seen on TV since 1989 with his creative input. He is one of the biggest TV stars of his generation. Then you have to be careful with your image and your good name. He’s going to make it legal.”
He does find the path that Carlo chooses strange. “I texted him tonight with the question: ‘What is it with filing a report these days? Why not just summary proceedings?’ As I have experienced so many times. Then you can fight it out in court tomorrow. Carlo has not yet wanted to respond to that.”
Why declaration?
Evert does not understand very well why Carlo does not immediately take the makers of Gossip Talk to court if their claims are incorrect. “You can see from Marco Borsato how long filing a report takes. I think that was in October and we haven’t heard anything more about it.”
He continues: “If this were said about me and I was Carlo Boszhard, I would just say: ‘I want this out of the world as soon as possible.’ What is it with filing a report all of a sudden?”
‘Can also do both’
Attorney Natacha Harlequin also finds this strange. “Yes, everyone has discovered criminal law these days and thinks that it is the solution for everything. Well, I’ve known for years it isn’t. I can imagine you saying once and for all: ‘This just isn’t possible.’ You could also go both ways.”
She continues: “Why one? You could also say: ‘I am filing summary proceedings and at the same time a report or a report.’ That could also be the case.”
Blown up
Evert knows nothing further about this matter. “We don’t really know what it’s about. We do come across a case in the archives with a certain Bram de Wijs. Also a kind of YouTuber. He said something on his YouTube a year ago which he later deleted. That Carlo would have touched his buttocks. He later deleted that.”
The magazine maker: “If it’s that story, I think it’s a bit blown up. If there are other things, we will hear it again and preferably from Carlo himself.”
Natacha critical
Carlo has only given a statement on Instagram: “Just watched Gossip Talk in disbelief in which lies are told about me. I will report to Jan Roos and Gossip Talk for defamation. I am stunned at the ease with which my name is being compromised and assumptions are made that are completely untrue.”
Natacha does not understand why Carlo does not respond further: “Show news has tried to approach Carlo to ask what this is about and what his reaction is, but he did not answer. Perhaps it is good to react quickly, because then you see that there is speculation again. And that is of course not necessary.”
