Natacha Harlequin refuses to appear on the tube with a plunging neckline like some of her TV colleagues. She thinks that because of her profession is a bit not done.
Although she regularly sits at the desk of Shownieuws, Natacha Harlequin wants a bit credible continue as a criminal defense attorney. She therefore thinks it is important not to go too far in the TV world and, like some other TV faces, to wear all kinds of daring outfits. She just fits for that.
Low cleavage
Who does Natacha help with this? “I have a stylist, Hanna Suurland. I discuss with her what the appearance should be. At Shownieuws she unpacks a bit more than what I normally look like, but I always make sure that it remains a business presentation,” she tells weekly magazine Party.
For example, Natacha thinks it is important that her chest area remains well covered. “So you will never see me with a low neckline, high slits and open backs until I know where.”
Shoulder padding
What would Natacha like to accentuate? “I keep it all a bit low-key, but what I wear has to be powerful. Especially in the shoulders. I really like black clothes, but Hanna tries to get me more in color, for example by adding a twist.”
Finally: from which Shownieuws colleagues does Natacha learn the most? “Bart Ettekoven and Patty Brard. From Bart I really learn how to make a show, build a broadcast, and what the viewer likes.”
Work ethic
So what does she learn from Patty? “I also learn that from Patty; just like Bart, she has gained that experience over the years. We always talk about power women and I often feel that we in the Netherlands forget our own power women.”
She concludes: “When we look at Patty, for example, and what she’s been through, but especially her work ethic, her work ethic and her positivism, that’s really what I’m learning from. I also appreciate her sincerity and her honesty.”
