Nastassja Kinski demands public apology for nude scenes – Film & Series Rolling Stone

“Tatort: Reifezeugnis” was released in 1977 and the then 15-year-old Nastassja Kinski was seen naked in it – something that seems unthinkable from today’s perspective was apparently not considered problematic by the makers of the thriller. Kinski now wants the events to be dealt with.

“Crime scene: certificate of maturity”: Nastassja Kinski wants an apology

To this day she asks herself: “Why didn’t they shoot it differently? The same story, but shot differently so that you don’t see everything,” said Nastassja Kinski in an interview with RTL. “I want to confront the people who were responsible for this. And I want an apology – publicly.”

Two weeks ago it became public that the actress wanted to prevent the problematic nude scenes from being broadcast further. Lawyers are in contact with NDR – the public broadcaster had produced the film at the time, directed by Wolfgang Petersen, who died in 2022. When asked by the dpa, the broadcaster said on Monday (March 4): “NDR responded on time almost two weeks ago and offered a personal conversation with the program director. The film is currently blocked on all distribution channels. We are maintaining the offer to talk.”

Kinski is shown shirtless right at the beginning of the film – she plays the 17-year-old student Sina, who is seduced into an affair by a married teacher (Christian Quadflieg). She didn’t feel comfortable with the nude scenes, “even though I liked the director and the whole team. But then I went to the hotel and then I cried.” She didn’t have any parental supervision: “My mother wasn’t invited, that was on purpose by the production – I can only understand that.”

Nastassja Kinski: What role did financial concerns play?

Her mother, who was divorced in the 1970s, had little money – the salary she earned from acting helped support both of them. “That’s how I helped us too, my mother and me. I’ll never forget that, it’s like yesterday. We were in a really bad situation, and when the offers came, it was lucky for me and my mom.” Therefore, there would have been not only a power imbalance, but also a certain financial pressure not to mess up with the production and director.
