of the United States space administration Nasa shared a stunning image of Mars. The image combined two panoramic images taken by NASA’s Curiosity Mars rover.
The images taken from the Aeolis Mons mountain next to Gale Crater on Mars were taken at 3:40 at night and at 9:20 in the morning local time on Mars.
NASA Curiosity engineer by Doug Ellison according to the image shows the winter landscape of Mars, which can be deduced from the amount of dust in the air.
– The shadows on Mars become sharper and deeper when there is a little dust in the air. When there is a lot of dust, these are much softer, states Ellison.
People to Mars
Curiosity has been exploring the area since 2012. In 2014, an ATV found surprising signs of an ancient lake in the valley shown in the picture. The ATV uses nuclear power as its power source.
Based on the information collected by the rover, it is possible to learn, among other things, how astronauts who may be sent to Mars can survive in the harsh conditions of the planet.
