Young Ajax won on a visit to Telstar. The Amsterdam promises won in the final phase (3-2). Glynor Plet shared Telstar’s all-time top scorer, but it did not score any points.
The Telstar players supported their seriously injured teammate Yaël Liesdek with T-shirts. The defender has torn his Achilles tendons and is out for the time being. The visitors from Amsterdam got the first chance through the Belgian Mika Godts, who headed over from close range. Godts again had the opening goal on his shoe moments later. Face to face with goalkeeper Ronald Koeman Jr. he failed again.
Yayha Boussakou, who was once again allowed to start in the base, also created two opportunities without success. Ar’Jany Martha took the Amsterdam lead after half an hour: 0-1. Remarkably enough, the people of Velsen became the most dangerous after this. David Min was released for goalkeeper Thom de Graaff, but the ball curled into the far corner. The same applied to Boussakou.

That image continued to be the case in the second half. Christos Giousis, returning from his suspension, fired on the inside of the post. Somewhat against the ratio, the Amsterdam reserves doubled the margin to two. Kian Fitz-Jim scored the goal. Trainer Mike Snoei made a triple substitution, one of which was Glynor Plet. He brought back the tension by making it 2-1. All hopes of Telstar, however, were shattered by Gabriel Misehouy: 1-3.
Glynor Plet made his 87th goal in injury time and is therefore Telstar’s all-time top scorer. He shares that title with Sander Oostrom. In the end nothing changed in the score, leaving it 2-3. Due to the defeat, Telstar falls to eleventh place in the ranking, while Jong Ajax is fifteenth.
PEC Zwolle is the opponent of the White Lions. The young Ajax players will not play again until Monday, April 17. Then Jong PSV is the opponent at Sportpark De Toekomst.
