Napoli transfer market: Manchester United on Osimhen since January

The English team could do a survey already after the World Cup, but it would be easier to negotiate in the summer

Victor Osimhen is one of United’s main targets for the attack. The Manchester press is sure of this, citing the Napoli striker in the list of reinforcements on which the Red Devils management is working. For January or for the summer, when United should reach phase 2 of the reconstruction that began with the arrival of Erik Ten Hag on the bench.

BACKFIRE

Osimhen had already been linked to United in late August, part of the plan Jorge Mendes was trying to put in place to take Cristiano Ronaldo away from Manchester and have him end up at Napoli. Part of the plan was for United to raise € 100m for De Laurentiis for the Nigerian forward. The plan did not work because the Red Devils preferred to bet on Antony, a Brazilian who had already worked with Ten Hag at Ajax and paid just 100 million euros. The interest in Osimhen however remained, so much so that the 23-year-old Nigerian is one of the first names on the United list for the attack. With Cristiano Ronaldo set to change sides in January, United are compiling a list of goals in the role of center forward. We need a young striker, able to guarantee a good number of goals, something that neither CR7, nor Marcus Rashford nor Anthony Martial have been able to do so far, the other option for the central role that has had to deal with the injuries throughout the season. Osimhen fills all the boxes. United, writes the Manchester press, will take a poll as early as January, aware that it will be almost impossible for Napoli to separate from one of the protagonists of an extraordinary season so far. In the summer, the situation could be different, especially if the negotiations with De Laurentiis restarted from those 100 million euros we talked about last summer.

COMPETITION

According to the Manchester press, United’s main contender for Osimhen would be Real Madrid, with Carlo Ancelotti asking for an investment in the role and seeing the Napoli striker as a major target. Admitted, of course, that De Laurentiis really decides to let his striker go.
