Naples market: Ndombele as Anguissa

The French midfielder on loan from Tottenham, who will contribute to the signing. More and more PSG for Spanish

Different characteristics, but similar situations and these are those shots that the sporting director Cristiano Giuntoli is used to placing at the end of the market. And so the possible purchase of Tanguy Ndombele at the end of the month could become the encore of the surprise engagement of Frank Anguissa at the end of the market last summer. The Cameroonian midfielder was one of the biggest surprises of last season and Napoli redeemed him for 15 million by concluding a great deal.

AFFINITY

Ndombele is different from Anguissa, more playmaker and able to fit more into the goal area, with vision of the game and sudden verticalizations. But there is an important factor that unites them, the failure to explode in the Premier League which has placed them in a sort of second tier of players. Anguissa ended up in Spain to find himself, Ndombele returned for six months to Lyon where he exploded a few years ago. At Tottenham he is on the sidelines (despite the current coach Antonio Conte wanting him three years ago at Inter) also because of that overvaluation – it cost about 70 million euros in the card – and an equally “heavy” salary (8 million net) . All this means that the expectations are high and the performance not up to par. Who knows if the Italian championship – like in Anguissa – can further stimulate this talent of Congolese origins who is only 25 years old. Giuntoli wants to try and, given that Ndombele is on the margins of the Spurs, attempting a loan operation (even dry) with interventions by the London club also in support of the engagement, it could also be convenient for Tottenham who would find himself perhaps with a revalued capital between a year. For Napoli it is also a clear signal for Fabian Ruiz and his agents: either they accept the renewal or the transfer to PSG. Otherwise the Spaniard would risk remaining on the sidelines. We will see, there are still 19 market days in which anything can happen.
