Name change: Calzedonia Group becomes Oniverse

The Italian Calzedonia Group has a new name.

The company, which, in addition to the lingerie brand of the same name, also includes the luxury fashion house Antonio Marras, the bridal fashion label Atelier Emé and the cashmere brand Falconeri, will in future be called Oniverse.

The name change is intended to reflect the company’s transformation from a hosiery specialist to an international and diversified group, Women’s Wear Daily reported on Monday. The industry magazine made reference to Calzedonia founder Sandro Veronesi, who chose the name to “represent the independent and independent essence of all brands”.

The new name ‘Oniverse’ is reminiscent of the word Universe, an allusion to the group’s brand universe, but is also an anagram of the name Veronesi.

The Calzedonia Group, as it was still called at the time, reported an increase in sales of almost 22 percent in 2022. The company achieved revenues totaling almost 3.05 billion euros. This corresponded to an improvement of 21.6 percent compared to 2021.
