NAM holds meetings about water injection in Schoonebeek

In the coming period, NAM will hold information meetings about the plans for water injection in Schoonebeek every first Tuesday of the month. “We explain in more detail how we came to the choice of injection in the depleted gas field as the best available technology,” writes Simon Vroemen on behalf of the NAM management in a letter to the residents of Schoonebeek.

The NAM wants to inject waste water from oil extraction into an empty gas field under Schoonebeek. All necessary meetings have been held on this. “Three main themes emerged from this: it must be safe, it must be greener and the immediate environment must have a large share in the proceeds.”

The NAM thinks that this can give the village a significant boost. “We expect that a significant contribution will make a real difference to the village and would like to encourage you to start thinking about where the needs lie.”

Now there are new meetings again. The first is on Tuesday, April 4, from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. These will take place in ‘t Aole Gemientehoes in Schoonebeek.

NAM will soon apply for the permit for the water injection in Schoonebeek.
