Najib Amhali is very upset about the statements Albert Verlinde has made about his business partner Dave Roelvink. “I thought it was terrible. I then think: why now?!”
Dave Roelvink announced two months ago that he was addicted to alcohol and drugs. That same evening he was on Beau van Erven Dorens’ talk show to talk about it. What seems? He did it to promote the addiction clinic in which he, like Najib Amhali, has an interest.
Najib angry
Albert Verlinde thought it was a publicity stunt. He has reacted critically in Shownieuws. “Then it almost seems, and I think that’s sincere, a kind of commercial. Why are you announcing it two years and two months later? From: ‘Do you also want to kick the habit? Coincidentally, I have a clinic in Abcoude, come there!’ I had a bit of a weird feeling about that.”
Najib is very upset about that. He really doesn’t like this from Albert, he indicates in the Weekend. “I don’t want to respond to people personally, but I hated it. I then think: why now?! A publicity stunt?”

No money is being made with it yet, Najib emphasizes. “For the people who think that we are now earning a lot of money: we just need money. It’s the concern. Our dream is multiple locations and eventually a clinic with beds. In order to be able to offer people very good treatment.”
So what Albert says touches him. What does he think is the worst about Albert’s comments? “That it’s a publicity stunt.”
Taboo
According to Najib, Albert does not realize what he is doing to Dave. “There was so much fear with Dave of getting it out there, telling the world. That took a year.”
You shouldn’t cut corners on that boy, says Najib. “There are people who still don’t dare to say that they were addicted or that they are still using it because it is so taboo and people have such a prejudice about it. We want to break that.”
