National athlete Nafia Kuş won the gold medal at the World Taekwondo Championship held in Azerbaijan.
According to the statement of the Turkish Taekwondo Federation, on the fourth day of the championship in the capital Baku, Nafia Kuş, one of the national athletes in +73 kg, went on the tatami.
Nafia Kuş beat Greek Paraskevi Ntemogianni in the first round and Australian Reba Stewart in the second round to advance to the quarterfinals. Nafia Kuş, who defeated Colombian Gloria Mosquera in this round and Russian athlete Kristina Adebaio, who competed individually in the semi-finals, reached the final.
Nafia Kuş, who eliminated the last world champion, Uzbek Svetlana Osipova, in the final, won the gold medal.
