Defeating Marin Cilic 3-1 at the French Open (Roland Garros), the second grand slam tennis tournament of the season, Casper Ruud reached the final.
8 seeded Norwegian Ruud and 20 seeded Croatian Cilic faced each other in the men’s singles semi-final match of the tournament held in the capital Paris.
Ruud, 23, who defeated his opponent 3-6, 6-4, 6-2 and 6-2 sets 3-1 in the fight that lasted for 2 hours 55 minutes, made his name in the final.
Rising to the grand slam final for the first time in his career, Ruud will play for the championship game with the 5th seeded Spanish Rafael Nadal on Sunday, June 5th.
