NADA and ITA agree on cooperation

The National Anti-Doping Agency (NADA) and the International Test Agency (ITA) want to cooperate in future in the areas of testing, intelligence and investigations. The joint goal of NADA and ITA is also the application and further development of the so-called dried-blood-spot technique, in which minimally intensive blood samples taken are dried on filter paper and can thus be easily sent.

“It is extremely important for clean sport that we network, coordinate and harmonize anti-doping work even better at international level,” said NADA CEO Andrea Gotzmann: “We are pleased that through this cooperation the fair-acting To be able to support athletes even more intensively.”

According to NADA, the declaration of intent regulates the competencies and responsibilities when carrying out doping controls in Germany. The aim is to use resources effectively, especially in the field of internationally active athletes. A first joint project will be the European Championships in Munich from August 11th to 21st, 2022, the cooperation is initially planned for one year.

ITA Director General Benjamin Cohen sees an important step forward for anti-doping work, as ITA and NADA Germany “can now use their combined strengths even more efficiently.”
