“Nacho” has just been released, the biographical series about Nacho Vidal, maximum star of Iberian porn cinema. Starring Martiño Rivas, it is directed by Montse Garcia for Atresmedia TV, and can be seen on Claro Video and Lionsgate+.
García is responsible for introducing the female gaze in a story with moments of great violence. “The female gaze was fundamental. I am convinced that it has come to fruition. Porn is a completely legal industry and deserved a reflection on the representation of women. Why would this genre be attractive to actresses? I wanted to understand them, understand how their heads work,” Garcia explained.
“I think that the time has come to talk about taboo topics and to give light to the things that concern us. It is part of our nature, of our most primal instinct. I invite all women to see it, it is very important to enter places that we do not like and not learn things from another’s mouth,” said the director.
“Nacho” tells in a tragicomedy tone the stories of the real people behind the porn industry that generates more than €500 million per year only Spain. And how Nacho was a game changer in the 1990s when he became an international superstar. That’s where he begins the plot, when he discovers that he was born with a gift (his 10-inch penis) that he could use to fend for himself.
In addition to Rivas, the series also stars Maria De Nati (the good pattern), Andrés Velencoso (Elite), Pepa Charro (The ministry of time), Edu Soto (Your face is familiar to me), Miriam Giovanelli (crown), Carmen Conesa (Merli. Sapere Aude), Montse Guallar (The body), Nancho Novo (Love is forever), Albert Baró (Merli), Marina Gatell (Lalola), Penelope Guerrero (sky red), Ruben Jimenez (Perimeter Zero), Juan Carlos Vellido (Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides), Paola Bontempi (What lies ahead) and Nuria Herrero (Mothers Love and Life).
