Nacho Vidal asks to archive his accusation for the death of a photographer in the ‘rite of the bufo toad’

The porn actor Nacho Vidal (his real name is Ignacio Jordà González) has requested to the Court of Xàtiva that file the cause opened against him for the death in his home in Enguera (Valencia) of the photographer Jose Luis Abad during the celebration ofrite of the bufo toad, shamanic origin ceremony in which one uses highly hallucinogenic substance (5-methoxy-N) extracted from said animal. The petition is based on the thesis of the forensic doctor according to which the death occurred by the combination of cocaine intake and the hallucinogen produced by the toad, underlines the letter to which EL PERIÓDICO has had access. In other words, according to the coroner, there was an adverse reaction to both drugs that caused the fatal outcome.

In March 2021, the investigating judge converted the legal proceedings in what in legal jargon is known as “abbreviated procedure” and concluded the investigations. In that resolution, the togada maintained that the porn actor could have committed a crime of reckless homicide and described the ritual to which the photographer underwent “irrational, reckless and dangerous” while noting that the person under investigation acted “without any type of rigor”, not anticipating “the risks that finally occurred.

Months later, in September, the Court of Valencia revoked that decision and ordered that the expert opinions be completed to clarify the characteristics of the psychoactive compound methylbofotenine, its effects on the human body and how this substance behaves in response to the mechanics of ingestion (inhalation ), among other issues.

The letter from Nacho Vidal’s lawyer, Daniel Salvador, from the Vosseler office, collects the comprehensive autopsy report of the photographer, which reveals that the inhaled substance and cocaine use (remains were found in the analyzes) cause arrhythmias, increases heart rate, “the force of the heartbeat,” and increases blood pressure. Hence, a “chance link” is established with Abad’s death, “taking into account his pathological history” (he suffered from hypercholesteremia and was a smoker and consumer of alcohol or other substances).

“Accusatory Wreck”

The lawyer maintains that in this extensive report “different causes for such a fateful outcome” are indicated, therefore, in his opinion, “attributing solely and exclusively” to the death of the photographer the inhalation of the hallucinogenic substance “means not fully attending to all the factors that influenced” it. He recalls that in ratifying this report, the coroner indicated that death was caused by a mixture of cocaine intake and that substance. According to the defense, any argument that leads to an “exclusive attribution” of the death of the photographer to Nacho Vidal is “an accusatory shipwreck.” And he adds that, given the results of the autopsy, it is “imperative to introduce” he cocaine use in the deceased as cause of death.

The lawyer also assures that it is not possible to “objectively” attribute the charge of reckless homicide to the porn actor because “the victim chose to create a much greater danger” than the acts allegedly carried out by Nacho Vidal. “That the victim herself requested, insisted and wanted to take this substance, without special justification, means that the fateful result should not be attributed” to the porn actor. Hence, the dismissal of the case is requested. The last word is in court.
