NAC Breda has won the away match against Jong AZ with 0-2. Danny Bakker seemed to sign for the only goal, but in stoppage time Odysseus Velanas also managed to find the net. He tapped the ball nicely under the keeper.
The first goal came from a dead game moment. A corner was extended by Velanas and ended up at Bakker’s feet. It was a breeze for him to score.
After that, a period of pressure from Alkmaar ensued, but NAC also had opportunities in the relatively boring game. Goalkeeper Reus kept Jong AZ in the game with a few good saves.
Then NAC took over again. Banzani headed wide and the game seemed over, until Velanas got the ball to measure from Seuntjens. The full branch could rest assured: the three points went home.
“Of course you also want to play well, but in this phase the points are the most important for us,” said NAC trainer Edwin de Graaf afterwards. “The circumstances, the wind, were not there to play good football. I am satisfied because we have won again.”
