NAC goalkeeper Nick Olij and Johan Bakayoko of Jong PSV have won prizes during the presentation of the championship shields in the first division. Bakayoko became ‘Best Talent’ and Olij received the prize for ‘Best Keeper.’ He dedicated this prize to former teammate Ralf Seuntjens.
The goalkeeper of NAC supported former teammate Ralf Seuntjens. Thursday morning it was announced that a tumor had been discovered in the 33-year-old attacker. “Know that you will not face this struggle alone and that we all support you. Good luck my friend”, said Olij after his presentation.
National coach Louis van Gaal awarded the honorary titles at the ‘Championship Dinner’ in Den Bosch. Nick Olij has kept his goal clean fourteen times this season. Just as much as FC Eindhoven goalkeeper Nigel Bertrams, who also had a chance to win the prize.
Olij has once again shown this season that he is ready for a step up. Van Gaal had nice words for Olij: “I would like to see you return to AZ”, the national coach said after the handover.

The prize for Best talent was handed over to Jong PSV player Johan Bakayoko. The 19-year-old attacker made his big breakthrough this season, scoring 17 goals and 12 assists. Bakayoko expects to play in the first team next season: “There are a lot of good players at 1 and it’s something different, but I’m ready.”
