‘NAC evening’ is a six-point game: “Funny that expensive teams are close to Telstar”

At Telstar, the predominant feeling is that more could have been done in recent weeks. And that is remarkable, because with a twelfth place in the first division, the White Lions are doing well. “We should have been in sixth or seventh place,” says trainer Mike Snoei.

Telstar has drawn in the last two games. Against Jong AZ (0-0) and FC Dordrecht (2-2) the Velsenaren only had one point left. The team is now unbeaten for six games in a row. “We are on the right track”, Snoei continues. The coach does think that his team should be on his guard. “Every week we have to be razor sharp to maintain or improve a certain position.”

“We can wet our chests. It will be very heavy”

Snoei particularly praises the mentality of the group of players. “They really want to have a few veterans who take the team by the hand.” With Mitch Apau and Glynor Plet as drivers and a ‘reborn’ Anass Najah, the balance at Telstar is in order.

Evening NAC

A very interesting ‘Nac evening’ awaits Telstar in Breda on Friday evening. Both clubs currently have 17 points from 13 matches. The Brabant, however, have a slightly better goal difference. “It is funny to see that all those expensive teams are near us,” says Snoei about Friday’s opponent. “I like that, because there are still 15,000 and 20,000 people in the stands, who are very committed to their club. We can wet our chests. It will be very heavy.”
