The N388 at Bakkerom will be closed for work for five weeks from Monday 9 May.

A bridge will be built in the provincial road for the water and fauna connection between the Bakkerom Zuid and the Bevervallei – this will allow animals to move safely between the two areas. The new bridge/fauna connection will be connected between 9 May and 10 June. In the same period, the temporary road (bypass) will be removed and the road will be given new asphalt

Closing part of the road

During this period, traffic will not be able to use the section between the Hoge Tilweg roundabout near Boerakker and the intersection with Langewolderweg and Kuzemerweg.

The Dijkweg in Bakkerom will also be closed to through traffic. The Mensumaweg is closed in the morning rush hour (07:00 to 09:00). Both roads will remain accessible to local traffic.

detour

Traffic controllers will be present at the start of the work. Through traffic can detour via Sebaldeburen, Grootegast, Doezum, Kornhorn and Noordwijk. Homes and businesses along the provincial road will remain accessible. The road will also remain accessible to cyclists, emergency services and waste collectors.

This does not apply to Wednesday 1 and Thursday 2 June. The N388 is completely closed on those days, also for all local traffic. If weather conditions permit, the contractor will apply a new layer of asphalt.

Southern Western Quarter

The work takes place within the framework of the area development in the South Western Quarter. Nature development is thereby combined with the design of water storage areas.
