A delivery van and a truck collided on the N34 between Emmen and Klijndijk. The road was closed to other traffic in both directions for some time.
In addition to several ambulances, a trauma helicopter, the fire brigade and the police were present at the scene of the accident. The driver of the van was cut from his vehicle by firefighters and then taken to hospital.
The collision took place at the junction with the N381. There were many debris on the N34.
