Germany imposed a ban on the pro-Palestinian organization Samidoun on Thursday. Its members are said to have publicly celebrated Hamas’ terror in Israel and spread anti-Semitic conspiracy theories. However, Samidoun is active throughout Europe. Their European coordinator is the Palestinian refugee Mohammed Khatib, who lives in our country. Khatib organized another demonstration in Sint-Gillis on Sunday.
“Their European coordinator did not mince his words in Brussels either,” criticizes N-VA MP Michael Freilich. “According to several news media, he said the following, among other things: ‘We do not call Hamas’s attack in Israel terror, we call it justified resistance’ and ‘What Hamas is doing is justified in our resistance struggle. It is the answer to decades of terror and occupation. So yes, we celebrate that’.”

Freilich is now calling for a ban on the organization, just like Germany. The MP will also question Minister of Justice Vincent Van Quickenborne (Open Vld) about the issue.
