n rip-off prices compared to horror fest – Would you pay $250 for this salad?

The prices for the Miami GP were high.

The prices of food at the Miami GP made the visitors angry. PDO

Spectators of the Formula 1 Miami GP had to shell out a lot of money for the food sold in the race area.

Peter McCormack posted a picture of the meal he bought on his Twitter account. He had bought a wagyu steak bun, which he said cost 42 dollars, or about 38 euros.

However, there does not seem to be any steak in the picture, but ordinary-looking cold cuts. There are hardly any other fillings inside the bun.

McCormack wrote “Fyre festival feeling” next to his picture. He points to the Fyre festival held in 2017, where people were promised restaurant-level food, but in reality they were served cheese rolls.

There were supposed to be luxury tents for festival goers, but instead there were emergency accommodation tents for people who paid thousands of dollars for tickets.

– You’re kidding, aren’t you, one Twitter user responded to McCormack’s tweet.

Another Twitter user shared in a tweet thread a picture of one of the Miami GP menus. According to it, a watermelon tomatillo salad would have cost as much as $250 at the track. On top of that, lobster rolls and lobster cakes would have been priced at $450 and the shrimp cocktail at $500. However, there is no guarantee of the authenticity of the image.

Sports Business Journal, on the other hand, published a picture on its Twitter account of the prices of the shirts sold at the track area.

Supplier Joe Pomplinano based on the photo taken, during the GP weekend, collared shirts were sold for $300, t-shirts for $110, and hats for $90.

Director of the Miami GP Tyler Epp said at the beginning of April For the Miami New Times being proud of the upcoming offering.

– We pride ourselves on bringing the best food and drink from the South Florida region to this global event featuring 14 local, minority-owned restaurants.

– We have really upped the ante this year, he continued.
