Mythical cloud animals at Spinvis and Saartje Van Camp

In the theater concert Cloud animals Erik de Jong (Spinvis) and Saartje Van Camp investigate the border area between delusion and reality. According to them, the cloud animals live there: ghost creatures such as werewolves, centaurs, mermaids and white women.

They are creatures that emerge from the fog. They are invented by humans to give meaning to the unexplainable. Sometimes they are human, sometimes animal, sometimes male, sometimes female, sometimes neither or both at the same time. What drives them? And why are they still here? What do they mean?

In a beautifully designed and atmospherically lit setting with net curtains, De Jong and Van Camp play a shadow play, in which new songs are heard, such as the recently released Spring ’22 . But old, well-known Spinvis compositions will also be given a place in the theater concert, which will take place on Sunday 29 January Theater Sneek is visible.

Spinvis and Van Camp, who have been touring the theaters together for years, are on stage in pairs, without a band. Spinvis takes care of vocals, guitar, keys, koto, samples and drums, Saartje Van Camp takes on vocals, cello, keys, erhu and samples.

The lyrics that connect the songs are sort of become ghosts which are recited by both.
