Mytheresa and Vestiaire Collective bring resale service to the US

Since June last year, the luxury fashion retailer Mytheresa has been offering a resale service for used products in Europe as part of a partnership with the second-hand platform Vestiaire Collective. Now the offer is being expanded significantly: In the future, customers in the USA could also use the offer, Mytheresa announced on Wednesday.

“Following the huge success in Europe, we are excited to bring our unique and innovative partnership with Vestiaire Collective to the hugely important US market,” said Mytheresa CEO Michael Kliger in a statement. “The resale service will offer our loyal US customers a real benefit by giving their designer pieces a second life, while also delivering on our ESG commitment to promoting the circular economy in the industry.”

In the USA, too, Mytheresa customers now have the opportunity to enter the necessary information on the products they want to sell on a specially set up portal. You will then receive a price proposal. The items sent in are then subjected to a quality and authenticity test at Vestiaire Collective’s US authentication center and then offered on the second-hand specialist’s platform. The sellers receive a credit for the Mytheresa store.
