Enter a box, color a block red and then throw the note in one of the containers. All in all, the voting lasted a few minutes for many Zoetermeer residents. At least: for those who managed to fold the note in one go.
And… just vote!
After you threw your pass into the big container, it went through several hands. That started at 9 p.m., when volunteers started counting the ballots. This count only looked at the parties, not yet at the persons.
Ballot papers to the municipality
After the counters had looked through all the voting passes, they retrieved the bills again. This time they looked at who was voted for. As soon as they were done with that, the results were read out by the chairman of the polling station and passed on to the municipality.
