Mysterious object washed up on Australian beach | Abroad

On Sunday, some passers-by found the metal object in the water and then dragged it to the coast with their car, the Australian channel ABC reported. The object would be 3 meters high and 2.5 meters wide. After an analysis by a chemical center and the Department of Fire and Emergency Services (DFES), the local police announced today that the object was safe and does not pose a risk to the local community.

The police will continue to guard the object until it is removed. They ask residents to stay away from the beach. “Given the origin of the object is unknown, the community should avoid touching the object or attempting to move it,” the Australian Space Agency wrote on Twitter. The space agency says it is keeping in touch with counterparts around the world in the hope that they may be able to provide more information about the object.
