Myssyfarm’s accessories knitted by Finnish grandmothers are interesting

Myssyfarmi goes to the Paris Fashion Weeks held in February.

The fall 2023 collection of Myssyfarm, known for its woolen accessories knitted by the local grandmothers of Pöytyälä, will be launched in January at the trade fair before the Paris Fashion Weeks. These are the international fairs of the fashion industry, where next fall’s collections are presented and sold to buyers. This is the sixth time that Myssyfarmi has taken part in this fair.

Community spirit and the ability to stand the test of time are seen as the theme of the coming fall’s Myssyfarm collection. Inspiration has been found in Pöytä’s local Kyntäjäntutu. In addition to the main products, i.e. caps, the collection includes, among other things, trendy loose balaclava hoods as well as current berets and hats. In some of the new accessories, this time, table-wearing grandmothers have grabbed crochet hooks instead of knitting needles.

Behind Myssyfarm is Anna and Janne, a couple from Pöytä, about whom we told you earlier. Just over a year ago, there were about 80 grandmothers knitting for Myssyfarm, now a group of about 100 retired grandmothers weave accessories for the domestic brand.

In the fall, we also listed other interesting domestic beanie brands. The list of ten brands included, among others, Finnish companies Nosh, Pura, Wølmark and KN Kati Niemi. Muotimititus also recommends checking out the knitwear brands Arelan and Alpa, whose fluffy and soft beanies are charming.

Currently, the main markets for Myssyfarm’s products are, in addition to Finland, Germany, Sweden, Japan and the United States. The retailers include globally known department stores, multibrand chains and smaller stores. Myssyfarm’s campaign Lookbook photos were taken by photographer Albert Romppanen.
