Myrthe wins 1,500 euros after participating in a win promotion during the bicycle light campaign: Electric bicycle as a prize for good bicycle lighting

In the winter the days became shorter, but at the moment we are enjoying longer days again. Having bicycle lights is still important to get to school or the sports club. Myrthe van der Zande from Ruinerwold took part in the competition for the bicycle light campaign and won 1,500 euros for an electric bicycle.

In the Unigarant building in Hoogeveen, Alderman Mark Turksma, from the municipality of De Wolden, and deputy Henk Jumelet, from the province of Drenthe, presented the check to Myrthe on Monday afternoon.

During the bicycle lighting campaign at the end of last year, she had her bicycle lighting completely in order and thus won an electric bicycle. Veilig Verkeer Nederland checked the bicycles of the youth present in November and Reinders Wielersport was present during the bicycle light campaign to immediately repair broken bicycle lights. The kick-off of the campaign took place at Kindcentrum Ruinerwolde.

Lights on and go!

Under the motto ‘Turn on the lights and go!’ Every year, the Drenthe Mobility Council draws attention to the importance of good bicycle lighting. The Drenthe Mobility Council does this together with the police, Veilig Verkeer Nederland, ANWB and the Drenthe municipalities.

Through various campaign materials, such as an online campaign, posters and tags on the road surface, they draw the attention of young cyclists in particular to their visibility in traffic. With good bicycle lighting, everyone can travel safely.

The action in Ruinerwold was followed by various actions in other places in Drenthe, including Hoogeveen.
