My way – Patty Pravo talks about his private life and his recording successes of one of the most important female voices in the history of Italian music. Beautiful, disruptive and revolutionary, Nicoletta Strambelli, this is her real name, was (and still is) an absolute legend of Italian music. As well as a style icon and woman capable of breaking the mold without ever losing the affection of his adoring public.
In the documentaryPatty – born in Venice in 1948 – he returns to the places of his childhood and tells his storydrawing on memories related to his private and professional life. Crossing the city and its streets, the Accademia Bridge, the Grand Canal and Piazza San Marco. Patty Pravo, an immortal diva
Born in Venice in a family of humble origins – father a motorboat driver and mother housewife – little Nicoletta spent her adolescence years in the Santa Marta district. She has studied piano and classical dance since she was a child then at the Teatro la Fenice at ten years old he entered the Conservatory. A real one child prodigy In short.
At 15 years old, however, Nicoletta discovers rock and begins to perform in Venetian clubs under the name of Guy Magenta, but Venice is too tight for her and, after a short stay in London, he moved to Rome. In the newborn nightclub Piper Club she began performing under the name Patty Pravo and was nicknamed during the evenings “Piper’s Girl”.
At just 16 years old he recorded his first hit, Sad boythe first of a long series of successes with songs halfway between beat and melodic.
