In July, exercise books and drawing pads increased by 13.6%, and pens, paint boxes, pens and cartridges by 5.2%. A real expensive shock for some families!

Now father Toralt Frentzel 48) from Stendal calculates: “The purchase for the start of school from our son Tore (6) costs us 407 euros, sports equipment and books are on top of that.”

His daughter Tora (10) started school four years ago: “We paid 100 euros less, the same satchel alone was 50 euros cheaper back then.”

In order to save money, he now does without the car more often. “You don’t want to save on the children, after all, school enrollment is something special.”
