During an appearance in the American state of Ohio, Roger Waters commented on the controversial CNN interview for the first time. The 78-year-old complained that the post had been cut unfairly. In the heated conversation, the ex-Pink Floyd boss said, among other things, that Taiwan belongs to China and that Joe Biden is a warmonger.
“It doesn’t matter how much they edit my CNN interview to make me look like an ass. I’m not going to sell myself,” Waters announced. Together they would stand “forever” on the “small platform” for human rights. The singer was also in the mood for small jokes. Looking at a few empty seats, he commented, “We’re not sold out, if you know what I mean.”
Memory of Syd Barrett
It was touching – and less political – when Waters remembered the late Syd Barrett. While singing “Wish You Were Here” from the 1975 album of the same name, images of Barrett could be seen on the giant screen. In addition, short messages told stories about the friendship between the two musicians.
Controversial Statements by Waters
In an interview with CNN journalist Michael Smerconish, Waters claimed that Taiwan belongs to China. If you don’t know that, you need to read more books. When asked about the Chinese government’s human rights abuses, he replied, “Bullshit.” He had previously described Joe Biden as a “warmonger in Ukraine”.
